Oradell Licensed Family Therapist
At our counseling center, we specialize in several different areas of counseling which include family therapy services. Our counselors are all highly trained and compassionate, and make sure that a trusting and therapeutic relationship is built between the patients and the counselors. Family counseling is often very effective when combined with other types of therapy including child, adolescent, or adult counseling. We are very pleased to be able to provide specialized counseling services for children who may be experiencing emotional, psychological or social distress during their development. Patients may exhibit behavioral problems related to low self-esteem and depression. There can also be school problems. In the first session, the involvement of the parents is discussed. Part of our therapist’s goal is to facilitate a dialogue between you and your child who is experiencing these problems. We provide family therapy to help the family learn how to more effectively communicate with one another. Members of families are able to learn how to interact differently with others and how to resolve conflicts within the family. Family counseling may sometimes include all family members, or at other times include only those family members who are able to participate. Family therapy can help in many specific situations including problems that involve poor communication, anger management, and conflict resolution. Our counselor effectively acts as an objective third person to help negotiate difficult issues. Family roles may also be explored as well as behavior patterns, with the goal of identifying issues that cause conflict; family members learn how to work through these issues.
