Just about everyone knows someone who's battling substance abuse. Those substances can include alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens, inhalants, methamphetamines, opiods, benzodiazepines, tobacco and e-cigarettes. Substance abusers can be found at any age as well as all socioeconomic backgrounds. You may even be one of them.
If you suffer from an addiction, you owe it to yourself to get the care you need. At the office of Mars & Venus Counseling Center, we understand the complexities of addiction and how to best treat it. We’ll work with you in a gentle, compassionate way to help resolve underlying issues, lessen substance dependence and restore you to good health.
If you're worried that you have a substance-abuse problem, give honest answers to these questions:
Do I worry about my drug use?
Is my drug use out of control?
Am I using more of a drug, or am I less affected by the same amount?
Am I using more, or over a longer period of time, than I intended?
Have I tried to stop or cut down with no success?
Do I panic if the drug isn't immediately available?
Is a lot of my time related to my drug activity, such as obtaining and using the drug, and then recovering from its effects?
Have I cut down on or dropped out of social or recreational activities to make more time for the drug?
Is my drug use is affecting my relationships with friends and family?
Is my drug use limiting my ability to carry out normal responsibilities such as school, work or family time?
If a few or more of the indicators apply to you, addiction counseling should be considered.
Drug addiction is a complex disease, and quitting usually takes more than good intentions or a strong will. No single therapy is right for everyone. At the office of Mars & Venus Counseling Center, our skilled professionals will address your total needs – not just your addiction. Our treatment plans typically include behavior therapy, medications, ongoing assessment and family involvement as needed. Take that first step toward recovery by calling us today. We’re here to help!
