Stress and anxiety can be useful and normal in certain high-stress situations like before giving a big speech, or taking a big trip. While the symptoms of these conditions are very similar, chronic stress and anxiety are not the same.
What is chronic stress?
It’s important to know that a certain amount if stress is very normal and most people get stressed out from time to time. Typically stress is related to an event or situation. You may be stressed when planning a family gathering, for example. Once the stressful situation has passed, your stress should subside as well. However, with chronic stress, these feelings may not pass as quickly. If you’re in a very high-pressured job, you may be stressed around the clock. This type of constant stress can have an impact on your mind and body. There are a number of exercises and tools we have to help reduce your stress.
